What is this course about?
On this course you will study a variety of sports related subjects on a full-time basis. The course is designed for those who want a career in the sport, health or exercise industry.
During the year you learn about sports performance, sports coaching, nutrition, how to instruct exercise and fitness, anatomy and how the body works, health and safety, strength training and conditioning and will take part in practical sport.
You will also study either Functional Skills of GCSE’s to support your practical and career development.

4 GCSEs at grades 9 – 3 including a Grade 3 in English Language and Grade 2 in Maths.
How will I be assessed?
Coursework, Group Seminars, Professional Discussions and Practical Delivery are some of the assessments methods used to achieve the modules.

What will this course lead on to?
The majority of our students progress onto the YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training or Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport. There are also opportunities to apply for the armed forces, or to seek employment within leisure centres, health clubs or sport coaching within the UK or abroad.
