Welcome to the Advice, Careers and Employability Team

The Advice, Careers and Employability (ACE) Team works in partnership with curriculum staff and Personal Tutors throughout the academic year to provide a comprehensive programme of impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG).

Our aim is to support students in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to make informed decisions about their future career and progression pathways.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to raising aspirations, broadening opportunities and helping every student achieve their full potential. We support students to successfully progress into further or higher education, apprenticeships, employment or training, ensuring they are well prepared for their next steps beyond college.

Students and prospective students at Cronton Sixth Form College are guaranteed high-quality careers information, advice, and guidance. Following a rigorous independent inspection, the Colleges have been awarded the international quality standard for their information, advice, and guidance services; the matrix Standard. We also work closely with the Liverpool City Region Careers Hub and The Careers Enterprise Company to ensure a high-quality careers provision within our college. Our careers programme is guided by the Gatsby Foundation Benchmarks with the college completing a self-assessment on its progress against the Gatsby Benchmarks on a termly basis via Compass +.

The eight Gatsby benchmarks outline current best practice in CEIAG and as a college we are committed to ensuring our provision meets and exceeds these benchmarks.

Information for Employers

Meaningful engagement with employers is invaluable for students, particularly when it is aligned with their curriculum and areas of study. Preparing students for the world of work and developing their understanding of the employability skills they will need are vital in supporting their future success. These experiences not only enhance career readiness but can also contribute positively to students’ academic achievement.

We would be delighted if you could spare just an hour of your time to share your knowledge and experience with our students. Alternatively, if your organisation can offer work experience placements or internship opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

Careers Programme Feedback

At Cronton Sixth Form College, we are committed to continually developing and enhancing our Careers and Employability provision to ensure it meets the needs, aspirations and future ambitions of all our students.

We actively welcome feedback from students, parents and carers, staff, employers and other key stakeholders to help us evaluate the quality and impact of our careers programme. Feedback is gathered through a variety of methods, including surveys, focus groups and evaluations following careers events, activities and employer encounters.

All feedback is regularly reviewed by the College’s Careers Team and is used to shape the ongoing development of our careers provision. This ensures our programme remains relevant, high quality and responsive to the needs of our students and employers, while continuing to align with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
