Talented New Scholars are Welcomed at Cronton
Twelve new students at Cronton Sixth Form have had a fantastic start to college life after each receiving a prestigious College Scholarship.
The outstanding students were selected for the scholarship awards after a series of interviews which took place earlier this year at the College. They were awarded the scholarships because of their proven talent and flair in the College’s three Centres of Excellence subject areas, Science and Maths, Performing Arts and Sports.
This year the successful students are:
- Danielle Jade Ellis, previously from Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School
- Charlotte Graham, previously from Saints Peter & Paul Catholic College
- Vanya Barzilova, previously from St Chad’s Catholic and Church of England High School
- Emma Lansdell, previously from The Grange School
- Jamie Blakey, previously from St Chad’s Catholic and Church of England High School
- Aimee Critchley, previously from St Cuthbert’s Catholic Community High School
- Chris Heaton, previously from Rainford High Technology College

- Luke Riley, previously from Saints Peter & Paul Catholic College
- Joseph Davies, previously from Wade Deacon High School
- Shahbaz Khan, previously from Tower College
- Sonny Fielding, previously from St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Centre for Learning
Mary Murphy, College Principal said, “These scholarships support students and provide financial assistance towards the costs of fulfilling their full potential in their chosen field. For example, students may use the money for attending competitions, buying equipment, paying for specialist coaching or tuition and/or studying towards extension awards.”
Students fulfilling certain criteria can apply for the scholarships as part of the College application process. After scholarship interviews the winning students are awarded financial rewards over their two years of study. We look forward to meeting next year’s potential scholars over the next few months.
