    The Centre of Excellence Captivate with Les Misérables

    Performing Arts students at Cronton Sixth Form College thrilled a sold out audience at the Centre Stage Theatre with a spectacular musical performance of ‘Les Misérables’.

    Set in early 19th-century France and based on the novel by French poet and novelist Victor Hugo, Les Misérables is the longest-running musical in the West End.

    The talented Performing Arts students stepped into the iconic roles for the two-night production which quickly sold out after high demand. In the lead roles were Marcus Cameron as Jean Valjean, George Rees as Javert, Elsie Gaia as Fantine, and Emily Snooks as Cosette.

    Matt Plant, Head of the Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts, said “The performances by our talented students have been outstanding and we have had lots of wonderful feedback from audience members who were extremely impressed.

    “This will be our last academic year performing at the Centre Stage Theatre as we will be opening our brand new ‘Cronton Playhouse’ at Cronton Sixth Form College next year. The theatre will seat 300 audience members and we are very excited for the grand opening and the future of Performing Arts at the college.”

    The Centre of Excellence will be performing their next production ‘Sweeney Todd’ on 28th March at 7pm in St Luke’s Church, Farnworth. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased by calling the box office on 0151 257 2032.
