Cronton Rugby stars set for Australia with St Helens Saints
Five talented Cronton College students, Matthew Sinclair, Finley Haigh, Tyler Mills, Robbie Simpson and Spencer Low are set to embark on the trip of a lifetime as they travel to Australia with the St Helens R.F.C. Academy team this October, representing their club at an international level. The tour will see the students test themselves against Australian teams, experience a different rugby culture and gain invaluable experiences both on and off the field.
The students have shown exceptional dedication in balancing their studies with the demands of training and competing at a high level. Throughout their journey, the college has provided the support, encouragement and flexibility needed to help them excel both academically and in their rugby careers.
Robbie Simpson, Level 3 Sport student, praised the college’s support throughout his time at Cronton.
‘My transition into college has been positive, the staff have been really supportive and have given me flexibility around my lessons to help me balance my studies with matches and training, allowing me to keep rugby as my main priority.’
Matthew Sinclair, another student representing St. Helens R.F.C, highlighted the positive impact Cronton’s staff have had on both his academic studies and rugby development.
“I would really recommend the college for athletes who need flexibility around learning and training. I’ve had great support from all the sport staff who have helped me improve academically while supporting me with rugby.”
Cronton Sixth Form College is committed to helping students excel in all aspects of their lives, whether that is academic study, sport, arts or other personal ambitions. The success of these students demonstrates how the college works with individuals to ensure they can pursue opportunities outside the classroom while continuing to thrive in their education.
Everyone at Cronton Sixth Form College wishes the students the very best as they embark on their exciting journey to Australia and proudly represent St Helens Saint’s at an international level.
