Fashion students from Cronton Sixth Form exhibit at the Clothes Show Live
Up and coming designers from the A level Textiles and BTEC Extended Diploma in Fashion at Cronton Sixth Form College had a fantastic opportunity last week when the College was selected amongst a handful of other colleges to showcase at Clothes Show Live at the NEC Birmingham.
Clothes Show Live is one of the largest fashion and beauty exhibitions in the world which annually has over 125,000 visitors spending over 28 million pounds at the event.
Outstanding garments, designed by the Cronton students were selected by tutors to exhibit at the event. A group of students then travelled down early to set up their exclusive exhibition stand ready for the opening of the event.
As well as looking after the stand displaying their work, fashion students from the College also had the opportunity to network, meeting fashion designers, university lecturers, models, celebrities and representatives from fashion houses and high street stores.
Maxine Mealey, Head of Creative Arts at Cronton Sixth Form said, “The event was a fantastic success, we received fabulous comments about the high standard of the students work and this is testament to the hard work, flair and commitment of the fashion and textiles students at the collage.
“The Clothes Show Live provided our students with national and international platform to exhibit their fashion collection while sharing good practice with professional designers, universities and employers. I am extremely proud of all of the students and we are all looking forward to returning to the event next year.”
