Thirteen new students at Cronton Sixth Form have had a wonderful start to college life after each receiving a prestigious scholarship worth up to £2000.
The stand out students were selected for the scholarships after impressing during a series of interviews which took place earlier this year. They were awarded the scholarships because of their proven talent and flair in the College’s three Centre of Excellence subject areas; Science and Maths, Performing Arts and Sport.

    • Alicia Ennis, from The Heath School
    • Chloe Fisher, from St Gregory’s Catholic High School
    • Freya Hann, from Birchwood Community High School

This week, the students were presented with their scholarship cheques at college by Mary Murphy, College Principal. The conscientious students have big plans to use the money to improve their studies.

Mary Murphy commented “Congratulations to all of our well deserving scholarship students. These scholarships support students and provide financial assistance towards the costs of fulfilling their full potential in their chosen field. For example, students may use the money for attending competitions, buying equipment, paying for specialist coaching or tuition and/or studying towards extension awards.”

Students fulfilling certain criteria can apply for the scholarships as part of the College application process and successful students are awarded financial rewards over their two years of study. We look forward to meeting next year’s potential scholars over the next few months.
