What will this course lead on to?
You could progress onto a variety of degree courses. Mathematics as a subject is very respected for training students to think clearly and solve problems. These qualities are highly valued by employers should you decide not to go into Higher Education. Some possible courses are BSc Hons degrees in Mathematics, Engineering, Science or Teaching. Following this, you could enter employment in the fields of engineering, science, research, teaching or financial services.
What will I learn on this course?
You will extend most ideas you have already met at school, such as simultaneous equations and trigonometry. Building on these, you will learn how to solve complex mathematical problems with algebra and geometry, model real life problems with calculus and apply your skills in mechanics and statistics. If you enjoyed studying GCSE maths and you like a challenge, then this is the perfect course for you.
