Dance Students Spread Christmas Cheer with their Retelling of A Christmas Carol
The Professional Dance Programme (PDP) at Cronton Sixth Form brought Christmas cheer to the Cronton Playhouse theatre with their retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
The classic story tells of Ebenezer Scrooge, a greedy and selfish old man who undergoes an experience of redemption after being visited by four ghosts on Christmas eve.
The impressive production starred talented PDP students Daisy Struthers as Ebenezer Scrooge, Katie Yeoman-Hughes as Jacob Marley, Torrie Keogh as Bob Cratchit, and Daisy Dunn as Tiny Tim.
Ben Musa, Artistic Director for the Professional Dance Programme, said, “We were beyond happy with our most recent production of A Christmas Carol. For the first time, we wanted to tackle a Christmas themed show and thought what better story to tell than Charles Dickens’ tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his journey with the spirits on Christmas Eve. As a team, we are incredibly proud of all our dancers. The response has been amazing, and many have said it was our best one yet. We were so proud of this show as it showcased our students amazing talents and passion for dance. The professionalism our dancers displayed was huge.
“We are really excited to start our next production ‘Left Behind’, which will take place at The Brindley Theatre in Runcorn on June 27th. This will be in complete contrast to A Christmas Carol, as we tell the story of two people thrown together in a post-apocalyptic world fighting to survive in a dark new world.”
