Students Visit Iconic Sporting City of Barcelona
Sport students at Cronton Sixth Form have recently returned from the exciting annual trip to Barcelona where they had the opportunity to visit the city’s iconic sporting stadiums and gain fantastic work experience in a Spanish school.
Over 40 students studying A Level PE, Vocational Sport and Uniformed Services courses have spent five action packed days exploring and visiting sites including the world famous Camp Nou stadium, Catalunya and the La Rambla gothic quarter. They also had a fantastic time at the Port Aventura Theme Park and Barcelona Beach.
The sporty students then tested their new coaching skills with a visit to St George’s International School where they set up a range of sporting activities for the pupils including, basketball, circuit training, and football with a tournament at the end of the day.
Iain Douglas, Head of Sport & Uniformed Services said, “The students thoroughly enjoyed their time in Barcelona. It provided them with the opportunity to travel, experience different cultures, grow on a personal level and make lifelong friendships. Our students are looking forward to returning in 2020.”
