Almost thirty industry professionals from rail transport giant ALSTOM met with engineering students and apprentices at Cronton Sixth Form College for an informative ‘speed dating’ style careers event.
The event was arranged by the ACE (Advice, Careers & Employability) team at the college to provide the students with an insight into the many different industry career pathways and possible opportunities at ALSTOM.
Held in the colleges new IDEA Centre, the future engineers had the opportunity to chat with the ALSTOM representatives who worked in a number of different job sectors including engineering, commercial, manufacturing, finance and legal.
The students were able to ask specific questions about job roles, career progression and developments in the rail transport industry including the design, build and maintenance of systems.
Denise Whitney, ACE Team Leader, said “Our students really enjoyed the event as they were able to ask lots of interesting questions about future career opportunities. I would like to say thank you to the staff at ALSTOM for joining us and providing our students with excellent advice.”
