Cronton Students Shine in New STEM Stars Programme
20 Cronton Sixth Form students had the brilliant opportunity to take part in the new Barclays STEM Stars Programme, which aims to highlight the many exciting career paths available at the Barclays Technology Centre in Knutsford.
The programme provides a valuable opportunity for students to tour the campus, take part in workshops, meet with apprentices and to chat with employers to learn about the wide range of STEM related roles available at Barclays.
The students engaged in fun activities including, Cyber Security, Data Led Thinking, ESG and Carbon Literacy, a Mini Hackathon, Business Insights, Life Skills and Career Development Workshops, which gave them a taste of working life at the Technology Centre.
Students were able to discover the range of degree apprenticeship pathways available at the Knutsford site and hear how the skills they are currently learning on their A Level, Business and Engineering courses can be transferable to a range of new and exciting employment roles.
Katie Peacock, Head of Student Support at Cronton Sixth Form, said, “We would like to pass on a huge thank you to the Barclays team for offering this fantastic programme for our students.
“The students gained a lot from the visit and are excited about possible new career paths they can work towards for the future.”
