Mersey Gateway Bridge to Light Up Pink for College Race for Life
The Mersey Gateway Bridge will light up pink on Friday 6th May in support of Riverside College and Cronton Sixth Form College’s annual Race for Life event, which raises money for Cancer Research UK.
The incredible show of support was arranged by Halton Councillor Andrea Wall, Halton Borough Council Leader Mike Wharton and Halton MP Derek Twigg who arranged to light the bridge to raise awareness of the event.
The colleges will host this year’s Race for Life on Friday 6th May 12.30pm at Victoria Park, Widnes, and it will be their fifth event and first since 2019 due to the pandemic.
Helen Maddison, College Programme Management Team member and event organiser, said, “We are very grateful for this brilliant show of support for our Race for Life. The event is a very special date in the college calendar and we cannot wait to do it all again to help raise money for such a worthy cause.”
