Celebration for the Class of 2012 at the Cronton Sixth Form College Awards Ceremony.
A level students who graduated from Cronton Sixth Form College last summer returned to the College to celebrate their achievements at the annual A Level Awards ceremony.
The students, who have now started their university courses travelled back to the College to be presented with their certificates. The awards ceremony is also a great opportunity to present the highly acclaimed Students of the Year Awards.
This year’s winners:
- Student of the Year Award for Business & ICT – Sam Argent, Previously from Saints Peter & Paul RC School and currently studying at the University of Liverpool.
- Student of the Year Award for Creative and Performing Arts – Sam Mullin, currently studying at Liverpool John Moores University.
- Student of the Year Award for English and Modern Foreign Languages– Lauren Oliver, previously from Hyton Arts and Sports Centre for Learning and currently studying at the University of Liverpool.
- Student of the Year Award for Humanities – Carl Austin, Previously from The Bankfield School and currently studying at Edge Hill University.
- Student of the Year Award for Sport – Charlotte Lewis, Previously from St Hilda’s School and currently studying at Edge Hill University.
- Student of the Year Award for Science and Maths – Ryan Cain, Previously from Halewood Centre for Learning and currently studying at the University of Liverpool.
- Student of the Year 2012 – Hannah Oldfield, Previously from the Bankfield School and currently studying at the University of Leeds.
During her time at Cronton Sixth Form College Hannah consistently achieved at a high standard academically she also fully engaged in the enrichment opportunities at College in particular the performances through the centre of Excellence in Performing Arts. Hannah played a main part in five major productions that the Centre of Excellence has performed including My Fair Lady, Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita.

Not only to celebrate their achievements and recognise their successes during their time at Cronton Sixth Form College, but also to hear about how well they had all settled into their universities and their plans for the future.
I am extremely proud of all of our students and it was great to see that Ryan and Hannah, who were the first students to receive a scholarship at Cronton Sixth Form, have now received Student of the Year awards for their final year at College. I wish them all good luck for the future.”
