Cronton Raise over £200 BBC Children in Need
Cronton Sixth Form College students raise over £200 for BBC Children in Need in a number of exciting fundraisers!
The talented students of the Centre Of Excellence for Performing Arts Programme hosted their own Cronton Talent Show, where students across the college performed a range of fantastic acts to a packed-out audience in the Cronton Playhouse.
Head of Cronton, Leanne Bellfield, Deputy Head of Cronton, Ben Barton, Head of A Levels, Dan Adams and Law Tutor Chris Boyle were judges for the outstanding show.
After a tough decision, A Level student, Libby Marshall, was crowned the talent show winner with an outstanding performance of Carrie Underwoods, Before He Cheats. She was closely followed by Ella White and Amelia Stuart, who came 2nd and 3rd in the competition.
Students also ran a Bear Pong challenge, where students would take turns to get the Table tennis ball in a cup in return for a small donation to Children In Need.
One of the show’s organisers and A Level student, Mqhele Simango, commented “Running the talent show was an amazing experience as we had so much creative freedom. We hope everyone enjoyed the show, and thank you to everyone who donated.”
Katie Hallard, Enrichment Officer, said, “Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in our fundraisers; it was an amazing day, and to raise over £200 for such a good cause is incredible!”
