A Level Business Student Impresses at Accounting Firm Grant Thornton
A Level student Tyler Bennett has managed to secure impressive work experience with international accounting and advisory organization Grant Thornton. Tyler, previously from St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School who studies Business, History and Law at Cronton applied for the virtual programme after finding out about it in College.
This exclusive work experience programme created by one of the world’s leading financial organisations was a great experience for Tyler as it helped him explore future opportunities within the company and gave him an insight into the audit field.
Industry Placements are an important part of the college experience at Cronton and help students try out the skills and knowledge they have learnt in the classroom. During the current pandemic, companies are finding different ways to provide unique experiences for students and Grant Thrornton were able to offer their prestigious work experience programme virtually, meaning that successful students like Tyler can still take part in these amazing opportunities.
During the programme, Tyler was tasked with different scenarios within audit, tax and finance fields. He was asked to give advice to businesses on how to improve their profits or decrease their costs. Tyler commented that he really enjoyed these tasks during his work experience. He said, “I was very honoured to be given this opportunity because it was very insightful and informative as I am hoping to progress down this career path”.
