A Level Students Celebrated after Outstanding First Year
Staff and Tutors at Cronton Sixth Form were proud to recognise the hard work and achievements made by their first year A Level students during the College’s annual A Level Awards Ceremony.
The brand new Cronton Playhouse theatre was this year’s venue for the annual ceremony, a key event in the College calendar. The event allows tutors and staff the opportunity to recognise the hard work and commitment students have demonstrated during their first year of study.
Leeann Bellfield, Head of Cronton Sixth Form, opened proceedings with a welcome talk discussing the many highlights from the first academic year. This included the opening of the Cronton Playhouse with a performance of Phantom of the Opera, international trips to destinations as far as New York, the Science Crest Awards, Prestigious Universities Programme activities including the Cambridge Shadowing Scheme, talks from guest speakers and the many fundraising activities such as the Race for Life which raised over £6,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Over thirty awards from each A Level curriculum area at the College were presented on stage by Programme Area Leaders. There was also recognition for the many students who have achieved a fantastic 100% attendance record throughout the year.
Leeann Bellfield commented, “It was wonderful to celebrate with our A Level students after what has been a brilliant first year. They have worked extremely hard in their studies and have been a joy to teach. I look forward to the second year with this excellent group of students.”
