Enriching Your College Experience

During your time at Cronton you will have the opportunity to take part in a number of different enrichment activities in your free time. These will increase your enjoyment of your studies and equip you for further success.

As part of your course you may be given the opportunity to go on trips relevant to your course, and you will be able to take part in college wide trips and events through the enrichment programme.

A DofE programme is a real adventure from beginning to end. You’ll find yourself helping people or the community, getting fitter, developing skills and going on expeditions.

Your programme can be full of activities and projects that get you buzzing; and along the way you’ll pick up experiences, friends and talents that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Driving Theory Lessons

Take advantage of our free driving theory sessions and get you ready for that all important test!

Clubs and Societies

  • Why not set up your own society or group? You can work as an action group tackling topical, ethical and environmental issues e.g ‘Fair Trade’, ‘People and the Planet’ etc.
  • Book Appreciation Club – Sharing and appreciating modern literature
  • Chaplaincy
  • Christian Union ‘Festive’ – A dynamic society that brings like-minded people together to discuss issues and worship
  • Creative Writing – Develop your journalist skills by writing poetry, short stories, and play scripts. You can also enter national competitions including Young Writers of the Year and the prestigious Christopher Tower poetry competition
  • Computer Games Club
  • College Magazine – Take part in opportunity to write features and articles for the college magazine, sports reports, fashion and horoscopes
  • Debating Society – Take advantage of the opportunity to debate contemporary issues that affect today’s society
  • Film Club – A range of world cinema screenings followed by discussion and debate
  • Medical Club – A unique opportunity for aspiring medics to participate in additional research projects, attend trips and visits and attend lectures from guest speakers including medical consultants and admissions tutors from Universities
  • Photography Club – The chance to work on developing techniques, using Photoshop and digital photography
  • Street Dance – Create the perfect dance moves and keep fit at the same time – for beginners to experts
