Cronton Students Space Adventure

First year Physics students at Cronton Sixth Form College have enjoyed a fantastic trip to the National Space Academy in Leicester to learn about and experience the variety of careers available in the UK space sector and related industries.

The day was a brilliant opportunity for the students to have the chance to talk to staff graduate trainees, post graduate students and apprentices about potential career choices and working environments at an early age. Amongst having the chance to talk to all these people, the students had some time to look around the Space Academy and really got to explore what it is like to be working in the space industry sector.

Towards the end of the event our students were captivated by an amazing planetarium show that delved into the beginning of time and space and truly captured the wonders of science.

Cronton Sixth Form Physics tutor Dr Paul Jackson said, “The National Space Academy has worked with schools and colleges to offer a masterclass on careers to complement studies in physics, using the expertise of project scientists and the National Space Centre itself to bring the curriculum to life.”
