Geography Students Put Theory into Practice at Formby Beach
Newly starting Geography students at Cronton Sixth Form College have been on a fascinating visit to Formby Beach as they begin their A Level studies.
With the sun shining, the keen Geographers were given the opportunity to investigate the sand dunes and the physical factors that are affecting vegetation at the beach, putting what they’ve learned so far in class into real life practice.
The trip also allowed the new students the chance to work together in teams and bond as a group at the start of their college experience.
Sarah Smith, Geography Tutor at Cronton Sixth Form College, said “The trip to Formby Beach was a brilliant opportunity for the students to see first-hand the physical factors that affect the sand dunes.
“It was great to see the students bonding and working together in order to gain a deeper understanding of the topics.”
