Cronton Student Taylor Crabb Raises Over £2,000 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital
Cronton Sixth Form student Taylor Crabb has completed an extraordinary month-long fundraising challenge, raising over £2,000 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Taylor, who previously attended Sandymoor Ormiston Academy, said, “I chose Alder Hey because it is close to my family’s and my heart, I spent a good couple of months in there and received amazing treatment from all of the doctors and nurses.”
To give back, Taylor set himself an ambitious goal: a sponsored running campaign throughout October, covering a remarkable 1,200km. The challenge saw him complete 24 runs of 5km each while also balancing his commitments with his college work and as a youth player with Runcorn Linnets.
He added, “I really enjoyed having people come along the runs with me. A lot of my friends, my football team, family, and local running clubs joined in. I also received many messages from people sharing their stories and experiences with Alder Hey. It’s definitely taught me how much of an impact the hospital has had on my life and the lives of others.”
The momentum doesn’t stop there; Taylor and his friends are already considering taking on a half-marathon in March.
Taylor, who is studying a Level 3 IT course at college said, “Since starting my course I’ve definitely enjoyed meeting new friends as well as all of my teachers, everyone has been very welcoming.”
A huge congratulations to Taylor for this inspiring achievement and for making such a meaningful contribution to a charity that has touched so many lives.
