The Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts at Cronton Sixth Form wowed a packed audience at the Brindley Theatre in Runcorn with their latest dance production; RED.
The shows narrative was a new twist on the classic fairytale ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and was performed by the talented students who are studying on the college’s Professional Dance Programme. The sold out audience was entertained by incredible solo performances and dramatic ensemble pieces that were set to a powerful soundtrack.
One audience member commented, “I have been fortunate enough to see many shows by the dance students at Cronton, yet again they were fantastic. The level of performance was very professional; it was one of their best yet!”
At the end of the show there was an emotional goodbye video played for the second year students who will now be leaving college and progressing to universities and dance schools across the UK, such as Arden School of Theatre and London Studio Centre.
Benjamin Musa, Artistic Director and Course Leader for the Professional Dance Programme said, “I am very proud of our students, they were amazing! We have had lots of great feedback from the audience who were blown away by the professional standard our dancers displayed. I wish all of our second year students who are now leaving us the best of luck in what will be very bright futures.”
The PDP will now plan for next year’s exciting dance productions; ‘The Snow Queen’ which will take place in January 2018, and ‘Alice’ in June 2018.
